Swim Lesson Registration

Due to the high demand for lessons, registration is limited to one class in sessions 1-3 and one class in sessions 4-6.

This class meets Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for 1 week.

Prerequisites - Children must be at least 4-years-old and comfortable in the water to participate in this class.

Children will become acclimated to the water through games and will learn basic safety skills. Children will then learn to float on their front and back while propelling themselves through the water using their arms or legs. 

Ideally, children will learn fundamental freestyle and backstroke skills with emphasis placed on the coordination and timing of the strokes as well as the development of a strong flutter kick.

Skills - Independent movement through the water, submersion, nose bubbles, floating on front and back, recovery from a floating position, gliding, streamlined body position, propulsive kicking, introduction to propulsive arms, sit dives, and safety skills.

Requirements

• Children and adults registered for lessons may arrive no earlier than 5 minutes before class begins.

• All participants must wear proper swim attire.

• At the end of class, families are asked to exit the pool as quickly as possible to make way for the next class.
